This page sets out the terms under which you submit a film or series to True Continent through the submission form. By submitting, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms.
You confirm that you are the rights holder of the submitted work, or are authorised in writing by the rights holder to submit it. You warrant that the work does not infringe any third-party copyright, trademark, contractual, privacy or publicity right, and that all necessary clearances (music, archive, contributors, locations) have been obtained.
Submitted materials are used solely so that the True Continent acquisitions team can evaluate the work for possible distribution. Submission does not create a distribution, licensing or agency relationship — that only happens under a separately signed agreement.
True Continent does not charge filmmakers a fee to submit, review, or onboard a film or series.
If we offer a deal, our standard arrangement is non-exclusive, with a standard revenue share of 65% streaming / 70% licensing to the filmmaker. You remain free to license the work elsewhere unless a specific written agreement says otherwise.
We treat submissions as confidential. Screeners, synopses, contact details and supporting materials are reviewed internally by the acquisitions team and are not shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.
We review every submission but cannot guarantee acceptance. We respond to submissions within 30 days. Declined submissions are deleted on request.
Personal information you provide (your name, the names of the director, producer and rights holder, contact details, and any materials uploaded) is processed in line with our Privacy Policy and the POPIA notice contained within it.
You can withdraw your submission and ask us to delete the associated materials at any time by emailing hello@truecontinent.com.
This submission agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. See also our Terms & Conditions.
